LETTER JACKET ORDERS DUE: TBD
One time orders for letter jackets for the 2012 marching season will be due in early fall. Order deadline will be published in late summer. Letter Jacket samples will be available for sizing at various rehearsals during band camp and at the pitch-ins.
The Embroidery form is not turned in with the letter jacket order form, it is taken with the jacket to Indiana Custom Embroidery and payment is separate from the letter jacket itself.
Both forms are available below and the Jacket Order Form should be turned into Robin Ridge. Robin’s mailing address is on the form.

Letter Jacket FAQ
- Do I have to get the jacket embroidered? No. Many students only want their patches sewn on their jackets and that is just fine.
- Are there instructions on placement of patches on the jackets? Yes. Please view Where do I put the patches on my jacket? link.
- I don’t sew, can I get help with putting the patches on the jacket? Yes. Please contact them directly for pricing. Need help sewing patches on? Call Allison Breeden at 566-8356.Letter Jacket Patch Fundraiser! The Color Guard is again sewing patches on for $1 per patch. Anyone who is interested in getting their patches sewn on can contact Chris Londino at her home phone 574-1845.
- Where can I go to get my child’s jacket embroidered? Currently, we have two vendors who have experience with our band and who are interested in continuing to perform this service for us. They are:
Indiana Custom Embroidery, 6438 Rucker Rd, (off of Binford Blvd), Indianapolis, IN, 251-7792, Contact: Karla.
Toula’s Alterations, 1029 W. Main St.Carmel, IN, 846-5202, Contact: Toula
- How should I prepare the jacket to get embroidered? Please use masking tape to mark where you would like the embroidery to begin. It is important that the company doing the embroidery is aware of how many years you intend to have embroidered on the back of the jacket (from 1 to 4 years typically, but some students are in band for 6 years). If you intend to have your jacket embroidered, it is a good idea to have this done first and then have the patches sewn onto the jacket. There will be an extra charge to you if the embroiderer has to remove patches in order to fit the embroidery on the center-back of the jacket. Do not assume that the embroiderer knows what you want. Be clear and ask questions BEFORE the embroidery is done. It will also help if you use the Embroidery Order Form on the band website. This order form has the standard options as determined by a group of band parents with input from the directors.
- How much will it cost to have the jacket embroidered?
Jan 2009 pricing is as follows:
Graduation year on sleeve: $5.00
Additional instrument on front of jacket: $4.00
The year and one line of embroidery underneath it on the back: $8.00
Each additional line: $4.00
- What is the maximum number of characters that will fit on an embroidery line? The embroiderers tell me that there is about 10.5 inches available (width) on the back of the jackets for embroidery. The ideal max is 26-27 characters (you must count spaces); however, in the past we have made room for “Indianapolis Regional Champion” by squeezing the letters.
