The Carmel High School Color Guard is an award-winning program of excellence. Being involved in this rewarding activity provides teenage girls with the benefits of work ethic, time management, self-esteem, friendship, and fun. Our high school guard program has grown drastically in recent years. We have become established as a nationally known talent, and our girls work incredibly hard putting long hours into their commitment to excellence. We would like to continue to grow our program by building community awareness and participation.

Other Scheduling Information:
1. Please note that the color guard schedule is most times different than the band schedule during the summer.
Please use THIS Summer schedule and not the Band Schedule as your resource.
2. There will be a big block of time OFF in June and July, please try to plan all family vacations around this time block.
3. Attendance is mandatory. IF you have a problem that you know of in advance with any of these dates, please contact Rosie Queen and let her know of your schedule conflicts ASAP. If we work together and keep the lines of communication open we can work through most issues with scheduling. Please keep in mind that this is a team sport and we rely on all members to be in attendance for the success of the group.
4. Band Camp & Mini-Camp weeks are extra important that all members are in attendance, we will be learning our show during this time. Please talk to Rosie about any schedule conflicts you might have ASAP.
5. All color guard girls will need to sign up for the “Dance Performance” Class. During the school year we start rehearsal every other day, at 6:50am and practice through 5th period (Dance Performance). Dance Performance Class meets on gold days.

6. This year ALL girls in the guard class will receive a grade for the color guard class based on certain criteria that will be discussed with them during the summer months. This is a change from previous years.
7. During the Fall, once school starts back up, our AFTER school and weekend rehearsal schedule is the same as the Band, except for Tuesdays …we will be rehearsing from 6:00-8:00pm.
Mondays - OFF
Tuesdays - 6:00-8:00pm
Wednesdays - 3:45-5:45pm
Thursdays – 3:45-5:45pm
Fridays - 3:45-? (Depending on Football Game Schedule)
Saturdays - All Day (Show Days)
8. During the Fall, our BEFORE school rehearsal schedule is every other day (gold days) at 6:50 a.m. The band comes in early EVERY day, this is another variation of our schedules.
