CARMEL WINTER GUARD’S COMMUNITY PREVIEW SHOW!!!

Friday, January 28th @ 8:30pm in the Field House  

You are invited to attend the Community Show this coming Saturday.  Please invite all of your friends and family!! The Carmel JV Guard and The Carmel World Guard will be debuting their 2011 productions for all to enjoy, before their first competition at Bishop Dwenger H.S. on Saturday, January 29th.Come out and support our amazing young ladies!!

 Planning on participating in the Macy’s Parade but not yet registered?  It’s not too late.  Please visit the band website at www.carmelbands.org or www.music-travel.com for details and to get signed up!

Every spring, the Carmel High School Band Boosters awards a scholarship of $1,000 to a deserving CHS Senior.

To be eligible, the student must be a member of the Marching Band, Guard and/or the Concert Band during their senior year. Each student will fill out an application and write an essay on why they feel they are deserving of the scholarship. The selection committee consists of parent representatives of each of the Marching Band, Guard, Concert Band and a Band Booster Member appointed by the Band Booster President.

A link to the application form is posted on the home page of the website http://www.carmelbands.org/   or is available from Mr. Cook beginning Monday.  Completed applications and essays are to be turned into Mr. Cook on or before February 28th.

The selected student will be notified prior to the May 20th Scholarship Awards Night.  The winner will attend and be recognized at the Awards.  The Band Boosters will send a $1000 check directly to the Registrar at the Recipient’s College for credit to the student’s tuition.  If you have any questions, please contact Kevin Cosgrove atmailto:member-at-large@carmelbands.org

Cosmic Bowling Winter Guard Fundraiser – Come out and go Cosmic Bowling with the Guard.  Sunday – February 27, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. @ Cooper’s Stardust Bowl in Noblesville.  The reservation form is posted on the band website on both the Marching Band and Winter Guard pages to fill out and send to Sherri Zimmer.  For $15 a ticket you get unlimited bowling, shoe rental, pizza and soda.  Please invite your friends!  Everyone is welcome! DON’T FORGET TO SAVE THE DATE!!The Marching Band and Color Guard will be conducting a major fundraiser on July 2, 2011.  We will be having a carwash with food tent and bake sale.  When making your summer plans, please try to save that day to help our band family. Thanks so much…details will follow as we kick off the 2011 Marching Season.  In the meantime, GO WINTER GUARD!
