BAND CAR WASH FUNDRAISER 
We’re in the process of providing the correct credits to all our students, but we did have one student turn in his/her carwash money with no name attached. We do, however have a check from Robert F Wallace in this envelope. If your child received a check from Robert Wallace, please email Pam Verbarg with the city and state that this check came from so we can credit your child’s account!

 UNIFORM HEMMING
Please contact Terri Miller if you are able to assist with hemming multiple uniforms once you have hemmed your young person’s uniform.  This is a great volunteer opportunity.  We will have several hemming evenings during the first part of July where we can work as a group.   

BAND/GUARD POOL PARTY, August 5th, Monon Center Pool
Carmel Monon Center Outdoor Aquatics Park

The Band Boosters will be hosting a Pool Party for the Guard and Band again.  We need chaperones/clean up volunteers for the evening.  We also need a family to collect food donations and deliver the donations to a local food pantry.  Other needed donations include snack and beverage donations, table set ups, and Gift Cards in the amount of $5 to $20.  Please contact Kevin Cosgrove.

Band: Monday July 25th thru Thursday July 28th from 1 to 6 pm, Friday July 29th from 1 to 9 pm, Monday August 1st thru Thursday August 4th from 8 am to 6 pm.
Guard: Monday July 25th thru Friday July 29th from 1 to 9 pm, Monday August 1st thru Thursday August 4th from 8 am to 6 pm.

All Band/Guard Pool Private Party, Friday August 5th, 8-11 pm, Monon Center Outdoor Pool Park
Band Camp is finally over…no more 8-6′s or 1-9′s!!!  No more hot days marching on the blacktop….Cool off, join your guard/band mates for an evening of fun. The Band Boosters have once again arranged for a private BAND ONLY party at the Monon Outdoor Pool. There is no admission charge and no need to pre-register…just show up!
There will be food, snacks and drinks provided by the Band Boosters.

There will also be music, dancing & door prizes again this year.

We will also have another FOOD DRIVE to benefit Hamilton County’s Third Phase Food Pantry. For each non-perishable food item brought to the registration desk, an additional raffle ticket will be given.

REMINDER:  Please e-mail Mr. Kreke if you will be absent or late to rehearsal.
 
LETTER JACKETS
Mark your calendars for the one time order of letter jackets.  Orders for letter jackets will be taken at or before the Pitch In on 8/26/11.  Letter Jacket samples will be available for sizing at various rehearsals during band camp and at the Pitch In on 8/26/11.  Order early for Macy’s and Christmas, there will be no late orders this year due to Macy’s.

The Embroidery form for last year’s season is now available on the band’s website. Please note that the Embroidery form is not turned in with the letter jacket order form, it is taken with the jacket to Indiana Custom Embroidery, and payment is separate from the letter jacket itself.

Both forms are available on the website and should be turned into Robin Ridge.  Any questions call or e-mail Robin.

MACY’S TRIP FEE REDUCER

SCRIP NEWS 
On July 7th we will have SCRIP pick up and ScripToGo inside at the high school.  On July 14th there WILL NOT BE A SCRIP PICK UP. Regular scrip pick up will resume on July 21st. Please keep in mind that orders placed between July 7th and July 14th might be delayed until the 21st. Please plan your purchases accordingly.

Scrip pickup will be at the practice field at the Stadium parking lot, weather permitting when the kids are practicing there.  Otherwise, pickup will be in the usual spot, inside the main entrance of the school (Door 1 off the circle) from 5-6pm.  ”Scrip-to-go” cards will be available for immediate purchase to go along with your weekly order.  Come check out the supply we have on hand.  Pick out Thursday’s dinner!

A WORD FROM DR. TAMMY WITTMANN –  the official Optometrist of the Carmel Marching Greyhounds: 
Now that we are in summer rehearsals, it is important to remember to take appropriate precautions in concerning the sun and your eyes.  Just as you would use sunscreen on your face, neck, legs and arms; be sure to protect your eyes as well.  We recommend the use of “Marching Sunwear.”  Polarized sunwear is the way to go for these kids because it cuts down on the glare that occurs in eyes while marching in their rehearsal environment.

The student’s eyes are getting direct light from the sun and as you may know, 80% of the damage that occurs inside the eyes happens BEFORE the age of 18.  Appropriate sunwear will help protect the eyes from the damaging sun.
