BAND CAR WASH FUNDRAISER, July 2nd
Sherry Denney of March/O’Malia’s Customer Relations has given the Carmel High School Marching Band permission to sell CAR WASH TICKETS near the entrances of THREE Carmel sites: 1)  Marsh in the Merchant’s Square Shopping Plaza at 116th and Keystone 2140 East 116th Street; 2)  Marsh at 146th and Greyhound Pass, 1960 E. Greyhound Pass; and 3) O’Malia’s at 126th and Gray Road, 4755 East 126th Street.  Our selling times are 3:00-6:00 on weekdays through Thursday June 30, and this next weekend Saturday June 25-Sunday June 26 from 11:00 AM-6:00PM.

If you have not already received a copy of the sign up chart from your section’s spirit moms and wish to sign your band member up to sell tickets, please email Lisa L. Wichser Jones, (Baritone Julian Jones’ Mom), and request a copy of the sign up chart. She will also forward to you the student guidelines for selling tickets at these store locations. Please note that a supervising adult needs to be present at all times. So if you request a time slot for your child that does not have an adult supervisor, you will need to sign up to supervise.

Car Wash tickets have been distributed to band members.  As a reminder, each band/guard member is required to sell 10 tickets and turn in the proceeds for their account to be credited $100. Any tickets sold in excess of the first ten will be treated as a fee reducer with $5 of each ticket sold being credited to your student’s account.

A WORD FROM DR. TAMMY WITTMANN –  the official Optometrist of the Carmel Marching Greyhounds:
As we approach summer rehearsals, it is important to remember to take appropriate precautions in concerning the sun and your eyes.  Just as you would use sunscreen on your face, neck, legs and arms; be sure to protect your eyes as well.  We recommend the use of “Marching Sunwear.”  Polarized sunwear is the way to go for these kids because it cuts down on the glare that occurs in eyes while marching in their rehearsal environment.
 Bill Eagleson
The student’s eyes are getting direct light from the sun and as you may know, 80% of the damage that occurs inside the eyes happens BEFORE the age of 18.  Appropriate sunwear will help protect the eyes from the damaging sun.

Wittmann 2020 stocks various brands and models of sunwear from which to choose.  Carmel Band and Guard Members will receive 30% off their non-prescription sunwear.  Stop in and ask about their “Marching Sunwear Specials”
