The 2011 Carmel Marching Greyhounds are proud to present Community Night to be held on October 14th at the Carmel High School Football Stadium.  We are headed to NYC but first, we are GOING VIRAL!

As we prepare for Community Night this Friday, here’s a brief update:

  • Admission Tickets to the Food Truck area were distributed last Wednesday to all students. Please check backpacks, car trunks and instrument cases for the tickets. Each student is being encouraged to sell 5 tickets.
  • Your student gets in free.  Prior to dismissal on Friday, they will receive a wristband that will get them into the food area.
  • Immediate family of all band and guard members can buy tickets at the discounted price of $3
  • Children under 12 are admitted free to the Food Truck area.
  • Please help to sell tickets to friends and neighbors for $5.  This is a fundraiser for our Macy’s trip.
  • The trucks will charge for any food ordered.  Their entrees generally range from $5 to $12
  • Carnival area opens at 5pm
  • Admission to show is, of course, free. Show starts at 8pm.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HOUSE WALLED LAKE STUDENTS – Deadline extended
WLC MBThe Carmel High School Marching Band will be hosting our friends from Walled Lake, MI again this year.  Walled Lake makes a sizable donation to the Band Boosters to host their students in our homes.  This is a major fundraiser for us and goes a long way to keep our band fees to a minimum.  Hosting two or more Walled Lake students during Grand Nationals is easy, fulfilling and fun!  All they need is a bed, breakfast and a ride to & from school at the same time as our kids.

Walled Lake would like to begin assigning students at the end of the month and Grand Nationals are not that far off.  There is much work and planning that needs to undertaken before then.  So far, we have volunteers for 66 of 88 girls and 54 of 72 boys.  Please consider volunteering to host these great kids in your home today!  Contact Kevin Cosgrove to volunteer or if you have any questions.

FALL MARCHING BAND PARTY, Thursday October 20th, 7-10 pm
The Carmel High School Marching Band and Color Guard members are invited to a night of Laser Tag at X-Site in Castleton.  X-Site is located between Costco and Castleton Mall (Sears end) on 86th Street.  It is across the mall entrance from Asia Mart. The Boosters will be providing drinks and pizza.  Students will need to bring $10 for unlimited laser tag play.  Each game can accomodate 40 students in the playing theater.  There is no registration, just show up.  This will be an official chaperoned Marching Band event.  Members will have to provide their own transportation.  See the website for more information.
